My thoughts:
This was a book that had been on radar for about a year. I do not know why I waited so long to read this. It is one of my favorite books of 2019. This was a wild ride of a book and I cannot wait to read the companion novel. I loved how the pages got darker as the narrator got more unreliable. Usually not the type of book I would read but I did really love it.
I do not know how to really describe the plot besides they are on a quest to find this king. At times I had no clue what was going on with the plot but I went with it. August and Jack have a co dependent relationship. The relationship is toxic and is evident in the book a lot. The more I talk about the plot I would spoil what is going on. Overall I recommend this book but be prepared for not know what is going on at times. For me I loved that as I could not put the book down.
